This past week I made some new curtains for my dining area.  I had been using some beautiful yellow curtains that the previous owners had left with the house but they were too big for the window (originally they were in a bedroom that had a much bigger window).  When we moved in, almost 2 years ago, I bought fabric to make curtains for the dining area but after making curtains for the door/window area in the kitchen and for Catherine’s room I was curtained out and needed a break.  The fabric I used is a GORGEOUS heavy linen with a renaissance looking pastoral scene in browns and dark blues.  It is truly stunning and I was lucky to get it on a fantastic sale.  I lined the curtains in typical curtain liner fabric they sell at the fabric store.  The kitchen door/window curtains I made as soon as we moved in to our house.  I think it was my first official homemaker project.  The fabric and liner I got at the local fabric store.  I loved the blues and tans in this floral print and thought it was terribly complimentary to the overall look of my kitchen.  Lastly, here are some pics of the curtains I made for Catherine’s room. I knew that safe, long term type colors for a girl’s room would  be pink and green (what little girl doesn’t like those colors, right?) and found this fabric, once again, on a fantastic sale.   The colors and print are so fun and preppy.  I’m hoping to get to making new curtains for Elliott’s room and the family room next!
