His and Hers

I’m in the process of working on some new projects for the New Year.  One of those projects is making quilted place mats for my family.  I thought I’d make some fun ones for the kids and here’s what I came up with!

Elliott’s is quilted in a straight grid pattern and Catherine’s is quilted in a wibbly, wobbly pattern.  I decided to make them so that they wouldn’t need binding.  The kids love them and I must say I think they turned out pretty darn cute.   I’m also taking custom orders for place mats and am hoping to have some fun ones to sell at my next craft show!

Sweet Baby Girl

My latest quilt I’ve made is for a friend.  She’s due to have her second child in a few weeks and it’s a girl.  The nursery colors are pinks and browns and for the quilt I’m making her she chose Lily and Will by Bunny Hill for Moda Fabrics in Pink.  The quilt is the Stacked Coins pattern (available at crazymomquilts.blogspot.com)and measures 40″x50″.  It’s the perfect size for a toddler bed, or to snuggle with on the sofa while watching tv.  I added a strip of fabrics across the back of the quilt to make the back just as cute as the front.

The quilt is so soft in both color and texture.   It was hard for me to get good photos of the quilt that showed what it “really” looks like.  I had better luck at my close up shots.  I hope you can get a sense for what it looks like.
